Just Breathe Hopefully, you see that protecting those like me, whose lives are threatened by breathing cigarette smoke are simply the canaries in the coal mine. Cigarette smoke in particular bothers me, even when it is on somebody's clothing. It is a sign that the air is being poisoned when people like me cannot breathe. Faith Finally, I got down on my knees, alone in my room and prayed. All I prayed was: "Dear God, or whoever is out there" and I got back such a feeling like a loving person would feel towards a child who is confused. Virginia Life I miss my Mountain home town of Hillsville, Virginia. If only I could be healthy enough to live there again. It is the ideal small town; not perfect, yet still ideal. The soft Appalachians envelop the town in a tender embrace. In the mornings, a dewy mist often blankets the mountains. As the sunrises through this mist, it looks almost surreal.
